This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry we collect your name, phone number, email address if you give one, and your message. When you use the site we collect standard technical information such as pages visited, which we use to understand which listings are popular.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for identity documents or financial details.

Why we collect it

Your enquiry is stored so that we have a record of it, and is sent to the person offering the property so they can reply to you. That is the purpose of the form. We also send you an acknowledgement so you know it arrived.

Who we share it with

We share your enquiry with the owner or representative of the listing you contacted, and with nobody else. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers.

Saved listings

The heart button saves listings on your own device using your browser's local storage. That list stays on your device. It is never sent to us and we cannot see it.

Photographs and location data

We remove EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates, from every photograph uploaded to kani.lk. A photograph of a property will not reveal the location it was taken from.

Keeping your information

Enquiries are kept while they are useful for following up, and are deleted when they are not. You can ask us to delete an enquiry you sent by contacting us with the details.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact page and we will respond.
